Exodus 33 1: The LORD said to Moses, "Depart; go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, 'To your offspring I will give it.' 2: I will send an angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 3: Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; but I will not go up among you, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people." 4: When the people heard this disastrous word, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments. 5: For the LORD had said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, 'You are a stiff-necked people; if for a single moment I should go up among you, I would consume you. So now take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do with you.'" 6: Therefore the people of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments, from Mount Horeb onward. 7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the LORD would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. 8: Whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up, and each would stand at his tent door, and watch Moses until he had gone into the tent. 9: When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses. 10: And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, each at his tent door. 11: Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. 12: Moses said to the LORD, "See, you say to me, 'Bring up this people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.' 13: Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people." 14: And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." 15: And he said to him, "If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. 16: For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?" 17: And the LORD said to Moses, "This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name." 18: Moses said, "Please show me your glory." 19: And he said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name 'The LORD.' And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20: But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live." 21: And the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22: and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23: Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen."

Isaiah 41 1: Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment. 2: Who stirred up one from the east whom victory meets at every step? He gives up nations before him, so that he tramples kings underfoot; he makes them like dust with his sword, like driven stubble with his bow. 3: He pursues them and passes on safely, by paths his feet have not trod. 4: Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. 5: The coastlands have seen and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they have drawn near and come. 6: Everyone helps his neighbor and says to his brother, "Be strong!" 7: The craftsman strengthens the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good"; and they strengthen it with nails so that it cannot be moved. 8: But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend; 9: you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, "You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off"; 10: fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 11: Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. 12: You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. 13: For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Fear not, I am the one who helps you." 14: Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the LORD; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. 15: Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff; 16: you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the LORD; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory. 17: When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 18: I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. 19: I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together, 20: that men may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it. 21: Set forth your case, says the LORD; bring your proofs, says the King of Jacob. 22: Let them bring them, and tell us what is to happen. Tell us the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, that we may know their outcome; or declare to us the things to come. 23: Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be dismayed and terrified. 24: Behold, you are nothing, and your work is less than nothing; an abomination is he who chooses you. 25: I stirred up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, and he shall call upon my name; he shall trample on rulers as on mortar, as the potter treads clay. 26: Who declared it from the beginning, that we might know, and beforehand, that we might say, "He is right"? There was none who declared it, none who proclaimed, none who heard your words. 27: I was the first to say to Zion, "Behold, here they are!" and I give to Jerusalem a herald of good news. 28: But when I look there is no one; among these there is no counselor who, when I ask, gives an answer. 29: Behold, they are all a delusion; their works are nothing; their metal images are empty wind.

Genesis 18 1: And the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2: He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth 3: and said, "O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. 4: Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, 5: while I bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on- since you have come to your servant." So they said, "Do as you have said." 6: And Abraham went quickly into the tent to Sarah and said, "Quick! Three seahs of fine flour! Knead it, and make cakes." 7: And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly. 8: Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate. 9: They said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "She is in the tent." 10: The LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. 11: Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. 12: So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?" 13: The LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' 14: Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son." 15: But Sarah denied it, saying, "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. He said, "No, but you did laugh." 16: Then the men set out from there, and they looked down toward Sodom. And Abraham went with them to set them on their way. 17: The LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, 18: seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19: For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him." 20: Then the LORD said, "Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, 21: I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know." 22: So the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD. 23: Then Abraham drew near and said, "Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24: Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it? 25: Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?" 26: And the LORD said, "If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake." 27: Abraham answered and said, "Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. 28: Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?" And he said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there." 29: Again he spoke to him and said, "Suppose forty are found there." He answered, "For the sake of forty I will not do it." 30: Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there." He answered, "I will not do it, if I find thirty there." 31: He said, "Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there." He answered, "For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it." 32: Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there." He answered, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it." 33: And the LORD went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

Psalms 25 1: OF DAVID.To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2: O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. 3: Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. 4: Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. 5: Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. 6: Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. 7: Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD! 8: Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. 9: He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. 10: All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. 11: For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. 12: Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. 13: His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. 14: The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. 15: My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. 16: Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17: The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. 18: Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. 19: Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. 20: Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 21: May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. 22: Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

James 4 1: What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? 2: You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. 3: You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. 4: You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5: Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us"? 6: But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8: Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9: Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10: Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. 11: Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12: There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? 13: Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"- 14: yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15: Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that." 16: As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. 17: So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

1 Peter 5 1: So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: 2: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3: not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. 4: And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5: Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 6: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7: casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8: Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9: Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10: And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11: To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 12: By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. 13: She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son. 14: Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

Philippians 4 1: Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. 2: I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. 3: Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. 4: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5: Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6: do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9: What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me- practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. 10: I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11: Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12: I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13: I can do all things through him who strengthens me. 14: Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. 15: And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16: Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17: Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. 18: I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19: And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20: To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. 21: Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. 22: All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household. 23: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

Matthew 6:25- [ESV] 25: "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26: Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27: And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28: And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29: yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30: But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31: Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32: For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34: "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Proverbs 3 1: My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2: for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. 3: Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4: So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. 5: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6: In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7: Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. 8: It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. 9: Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; 10: then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. 11: My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof, 12: for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. 13: Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, 14: for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. 15: She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 16: Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. 17: Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18: She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed. 19: The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; 20: by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. 21: My son, do not lose sight of these- keep sound wisdom and discretion, 22: and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. 23: Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. 24: If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. 25: Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, 26: for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. 27: Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. 28: Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it"- when you have it with you. 29: Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. 30: Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm. 31: Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, 32: for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence. 33: The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. 34: Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. 35: The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.

Jeremiah 31 1: "At that time, declares the LORD, I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be my people." 2: Thus says the LORD: "The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, 3: the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. 4: Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers. 5: Again you shall plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant and shall enjoy the fruit. 6: For there shall be a day when watchmen will call in the hill country of Ephraim: 'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'" 7: For thus says the LORD: "Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and raise shouts for the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, 'O LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel.' 8: Behold, I will bring them from the north country and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the pregnant woman and her who is in labor, together; a great company, they shall return here. 9: With weeping they shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10: "Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away; say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.' 11: For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him. 12: They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the LORD, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more. 13: Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. 14: I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, declares the LORD." 15: Thus says the LORD: "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more." 16: Thus says the LORD: "Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work, declares the LORD, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy. 17: There is hope for your future, declares the LORD, and your children shall come back to their own country. 18: I have heard Ephraim grieving, 'You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined, like an untrained calf; bring me back that I may be restored, for you are the LORD my God. 19: For after I had turned away, I relented, and after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed, and I was confounded, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.' 20: Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the LORD. 21: "Set up road markers for yourself; make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went. Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities. 22: How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encircles a man." 23: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes: "' The LORD bless you, O habitation of righteousness, O holy hill!' 24: And Judah and all its cities shall dwell there together, and the farmers and those who wander with their flocks. 25: For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish." 26: At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me. 27: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28: And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the LORD. 29: In those days they shall no longer say: "' The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.' 30: But everyone shall die for his own sin. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32: not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. 33: But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34: And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." 35: Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar- the LORD of hosts is his name: 36: "If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the LORD, then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever." 37: Thus says the LORD: "If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, declares the LORD." 38: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when the city shall be rebuilt for the LORD from the tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39: And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. 40: The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be sacred to the LORD. It shall not be uprooted or overthrown anymore forever."

John 14:16- [ESV] 16: And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17: even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18: "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19: Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20: In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21: Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." 22: Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" 23: Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24: Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. 25: "These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28: You heard me say to you, 'I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29: And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. 30: I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31: but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

John 16 1: "I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. 2: They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. 3: And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4: But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. "I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. 5: But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' 6: But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7: Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8: And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10: concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11: concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12: "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13: When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14: He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15: All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 16: "A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me." 17: So some of his disciples said to one another, "What is this that he says to us, 'A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me'; and, 'because I am going to the Father'?" 18: So they were saying, "What does he mean by 'a little while'? We do not know what he is talking about." 19: Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, "Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, 'A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me'? 20: Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21: When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22: So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23: In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24: Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25: "I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. 26: In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; 27: for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28: I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father." 29: His disciples said, "Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech! 30: Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God." 31: Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32: Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. 33: I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Genesis 17 1: When Abram was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, 2: that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly." 3: Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, 4: "Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. 5: No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. 6: I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. 7: And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. 8: And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God." 9: And God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. 10: This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11: You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. 12: He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring, 13: both he who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money, shall surely be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant. 14: Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant." 15: And God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. 16: I will bless her, and moreover, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall become nations; kings of peoples shall come from her." 17: Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself, "Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" 18: And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you!" 19: God said, "No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him. 20: As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him into a great nation. 21: But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year." 22: When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham. 23: Then Abraham took Ishmael his son and all those born in his house or bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very day, as God had said to him. 24: Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 25: And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 26: That very day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised. 27: And all the men of his house, those born in the house and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

Jeremiah 24 1: After Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken into exile from Jerusalem Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, together with the officials of Judah, the craftsmen, and the metal workers, and had brought them to Babylon, the LORD showed me this vision: behold, two baskets of figs placed before the temple of the LORD. 2: One basket had very good figs, like first-ripe figs, but the other basket had very bad figs, so bad that they could not be eaten. 3: And the LORD said to me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" I said, "Figs, the good figs very good, and the bad figs very bad, so bad that they cannot be eaten." 4: Then the word of the LORD came to me: 5: "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I have sent away from this place to the land of the Chaldeans. 6: I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up, and not tear them down; I will plant them, and not uproot them. 7: I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart. 8: "But thus says the LORD: Like the bad figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten, so will I treat Zedekiah the king of Judah, his officials, the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt. 9: I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a reproach, a byword, a taunt, and a curse in all the places where I shall drive them. 10: And I will send sword, famine, and pestilence upon them, until they shall be utterly destroyed from the land that I gave to them and their fathers."

Jeremiah 30 1: The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2: "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you. 3: For behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the LORD, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it." 4: These are the words that the LORD spoke concerning Israel and Judah: 5: "Thus says the LORD: We have heard a cry of panic, of terror, and no peace. 6: Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor? Why has every face turned pale? 7: Alas! That day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob; yet he shall be saved out of it. 8: "And it shall come to pass in that day, declares the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and I will burst your bonds, and foreigners shall no more make a servant of him. 9: But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. 10: "Then fear not, O Jacob my servant, declares the LORD, nor be dismayed, O Israel; for behold, I will save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease, and none shall make him afraid. 11: For I am with you to save you, declares the LORD; I will make a full end of all the nations among whom I scattered you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished. 12: "For thus says the LORD: Your hurt is incurable, and your wound is grievous. 13: There is none to uphold your cause, no medicine for your wound, no healing for you. 14: All your lovers have forgotten you; they care nothing for you; for I have dealt you the blow of an enemy, the punishment of a merciless foe, because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant. 15: Why do you cry out over your hurt? Your pain is incurable. Because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant, I have done these things to you. 16: Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity; those who plunder you shall be plundered, and all who prey on you I will make a prey. 17: For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the LORD, because they have called you an outcast: 'It is Zion, for whom no one cares!' 18: "Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwellings; the city shall be rebuilt on its mound, and the palace shall stand where it used to be. 19: Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving, and the voices of those who celebrate. I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will make them honored, and they shall not be small. 20: Their children shall be as they were of old, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all who oppress them. 21: Their prince shall be one of themselves; their ruler shall come out from their midst; I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me, for who would dare of himself to approach me? declares the LORD. 22: And you shall be my people, and I will be your God." 23: Behold the storm of the LORD! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked. 24: The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back until he has executed and accomplished the intentions of his mind. In the latter days you will understand this.

Jeremiah 31 1: "At that time, declares the LORD, I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be my people." 2: Thus says the LORD: "The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, 3: the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. 4: Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers. 5: Again you shall plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant and shall enjoy the fruit. 6: For there shall be a day when watchmen will call in the hill country of Ephraim: 'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'" 7: For thus says the LORD: "Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and raise shouts for the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, 'O LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel.' 8: Behold, I will bring them from the north country and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the pregnant woman and her who is in labor, together; a great company, they shall return here. 9: With weeping they shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10: "Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away; say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.' 11: For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him. 12: They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the LORD, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more. 13: Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. 14: I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, declares the LORD." 15: Thus says the LORD: "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more." 16: Thus says the LORD: "Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work, declares the LORD, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy. 17: There is hope for your future, declares the LORD, and your children shall come back to their own country. 18: I have heard Ephraim grieving, 'You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined, like an untrained calf; bring me back that I may be restored, for you are the LORD my God. 19: For after I had turned away, I relented, and after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed, and I was confounded, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.' 20: Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the LORD. 21: "Set up road markers for yourself; make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went. Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities. 22: How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encircles a man." 23: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes: "' The LORD bless you, O habitation of righteousness, O holy hill!' 24: And Judah and all its cities shall dwell there together, and the farmers and those who wander with their flocks. 25: For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish." 26: At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me. 27: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28: And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the LORD. 29: In those days they shall no longer say: "' The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.' 30: But everyone shall die for his own sin. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32: not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. 33: But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34: And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. Jeremiah 32 1: The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. 2: At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard that was in the palace of the king of Judah. 3: For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying, "Why do you prophesy and say, 'Thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it; 4: Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye. 5: And he shall take Zedekiah to Babylon, and there he shall remain until I visit him, declares the LORD. Though you fight against the Chaldeans, you shall not succeed'?" 6: Jeremiah said, "The word of the LORD came to me: 7: Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you and say, 'Buy my field that is at Anathoth, for the right of redemption by purchase is yours.' 8: Then Hanamel my cousin came to me in the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the LORD, and said to me, 'Buy my field that is at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.' Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. 9: "And I bought the field at Anathoth from Hanamel my cousin, and weighed out the money to him, seventeen shekels of silver. 10: I signed the deed, sealed it, got witnesses, and weighed the money on scales. 11: Then I took the sealed deed of purchase, containing the terms and conditions and the open copy. 12: And I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my cousin, in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, and in the presence of all the Judeans who were sitting in the court of the guard. 13: I charged Baruch in their presence, saying, 14: 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this sealed deed of purchase and this open deed, and put them in an earthenware vessel, that they may last for a long time. 15: For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.' 16: "After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying: 17: 'Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who has made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. 18: You show steadfast love to thousands, but you repay the guilt of fathers to their children after them, O great and mighty God, whose name is the LORD of hosts, 19: great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of man, rewarding each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. 20: You have shown signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind, and have made a name for yourself, as at this day. 21: You brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror. 22: And you gave them this land, which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. 23: And they entered and took possession of it. But they did not obey your voice or walk in your law. They did nothing of all you commanded them to do. Therefore you have made all this disaster come upon them. 24: Behold, the siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and because of sword and famine and pestilence the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What you spoke has come to pass, and behold, you see it. 25: Yet you, O Lord GOD, have said to me, "Buy the field for money and get witnesses"- though the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.'" 26: The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: 27: "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? 28: Therefore, thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it. 29: The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city shall come and set this city on fire and burn it, with the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, to provoke me to anger. 30: For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth. The children of Israel have done nothing but provoke me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD. 31: This city has aroused my anger and wrath, from the day it was built to this day, so that I will remove it from my sight 32: because of all the evil of the children of Israel and the children of Judah that they did to provoke me to anger- their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 33: They have turned to me their back and not their face. And though I have taught them persistently, they have not listened to receive instruction. 34: They set up their abominations in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. 35: They built the high places of Baal in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. 36: "Now therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, 'It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, by famine, and by pestilence': 37: Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety. 38: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 39: I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. 40: I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. 41: I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul. 42: "For thus says the LORD: Just as I have brought all this great disaster upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I promise them. 43: Fields shall be bought in this land of which you are saying, 'It is a desolation, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.' 44: Fields shall be bought for money, and deeds shall be signed and sealed and witnessed, in the land of Benjamin, in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb; for I will restore their fortunes, declares the LORD."

Ezekiel 11 1: The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which faces east. And behold, at the entrance of the gateway there were twenty-five men. And I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2: And he said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; 3: who say, 'The time is not near to build houses. This city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.' 4: Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man." 5: And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, "Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel. For I know the things that come into your mind. 6: You have multiplied your slain in this city and have filled its streets with the slain. 7: Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the cauldron, but you shall be brought out of the midst of it. 8: You have feared the sword, and I will bring the sword upon you, declares the Lord GOD. 9: And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. 10: You shall fall by the sword. I will judge you at the border of Israel, and you shall know that I am the LORD. 11: This city shall not be your cauldron, nor shall you be the meat in the midst of it. I will judge you at the border of Israel, 12: and you shall know that I am the LORD. For you have not walked in my statutes, nor obeyed my rules, but have acted according to the rules of the nations that are around you." 13: And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?" 14: And the word of the LORD came to me: 15: "Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, your kinsmen, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'Go far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.' 16: Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.' 17: Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.' 18: And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. 19: And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20: that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21: But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD." 22: Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. 23: And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain that is on the east side of the city. 24: And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25: And I told the exiles all the things that the LORD had shown me.

Ezekiel 36 1: "And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD. 2: Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy said of you, 'Aha!' and, 'The ancient heights have become our possession,' 3: therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Precisely because they made you desolate and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you became the talk and evil gossip of the people, 4: therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations all around, 5: therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Surely I have spoken in my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave my land to themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, that they might make its pasturelands a prey. 6: Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I have spoken in my jealous wrath, because you have suffered the reproach of the nations. 7: Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I swear that the nations that are all around you shall themselves suffer reproach. 8: "But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they will soon come home. 9: For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. 10: And I will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt. 11: And I will multiply on you man and beast, and they shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 12: I will let people walk on you, even my people Israel. And they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bereave them of children. 13: Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they say to you, 'You devour people, and you bereave your nation of children,' 14: therefore you shall no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the Lord GOD. 15: And I will not let you hear anymore the reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord GOD." 16: The word of the LORD came to me: 17: "Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their deeds. Their ways before me were like the uncleanness of a woman in her menstrual impurity. 18: So I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood that they had shed in the land, for the idols with which they had defiled it. 19: I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. In accordance with their ways and their deeds I judged them. 20: But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them, 'These are the people of the LORD, and yet they had to go out of his land.' 21: But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they came. 22: "Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23: And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24: I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25: I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26: And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27: And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28: You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29: And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. And I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. 30: I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. 31: Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominations. 32: It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord GOD; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel. 33: "Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. 34: And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. 35: And they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.' 36: Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the LORD; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it. 37: "Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their people like a flock. 38: Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD."

Ezekiel 37 1: The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. 2: And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3: And he said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "O Lord GOD, you know." 4: Then he said to me, "Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5: Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD." 7: So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8: And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. 9: Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live." 10: So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. 11: Then he said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, 'Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.' 12: Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13: And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14: And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD." 15: The word of the LORD came to me: 16: "Son of man, take a stick and write on it, 'For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him'; then take another stick and write on it, 'For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.' 17: And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. 18: And when your people say to you, 'Will you not tell us what you mean by these?' 19: say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand. 20: When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes, 21: then say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. 22: And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. 23: They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 24: "My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. 25: They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children shall dwell there forever, and David my servant shall be their prince forever. 26: I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 27: My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28: Then the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore."

Zechariah 8 1: And the word of the LORD of hosts came, saying, 2: "Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath. 3: Thus says the LORD: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. 4: Thus says the LORD of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age. 5: And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. 6: Thus says the LORD of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the LORD of hosts? 7: Thus says the LORD of hosts: behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, 8: and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness." 9: Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. 10: For before those days there was no wage for man or any wage for beast, neither was there any safety from the foe for him who went out or came in, for I set every man against his neighbor. 11: But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days, declares the LORD of hosts. 12: For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. 13: And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong." 14: For thus says the LORD of hosts: "As I purposed to bring disaster to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the LORD of hosts, 15: so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not. 16: These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; 17: do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the LORD." 18: And the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, 19: "Thus says the LORD of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace. 20: "Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. 21: The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts; I myself am going.' 22: Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. 23: Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'"

2 Corinthians 6 1: Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2: For he says, "In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 3: We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4: but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5: beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6: by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love, 7: by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8: through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9: as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10: as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. 11: We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open. 12: You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. 13: In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also. 14: Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15: What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17: Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18: and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

Hebrews 8 1: Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2: a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. 3: For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. 4: Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5: They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, "See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain." 6: But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7: For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. 8: For he finds fault with them when he says: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 9: not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord. 10: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 11: And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12: For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." 13: In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Revelation 21 1: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2: And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3: And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4: He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." 5: And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6: And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7: The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8: But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." 9: Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, "Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb." 10: And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11: having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12: It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed- 13: on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14: And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15: And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. 16: The city lies foursquare; its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. Its length and width and height are equal. 17: He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement. 18: The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass. 19: The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20: the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21: And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. 22: And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23: And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24: By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, 25: and its gates will never be shut by day- and there will be no night there. 26: They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. 27: But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Genesis 3 1: Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?" 2: And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3: but God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'" 4: But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. 5: For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 6: So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7: Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. 8: And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9: But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" 10: And he said, "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself." 11: He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" 12: The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate." 13: Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." 14: The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. 15: I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel." 16: To the woman he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you." 17: And to Adam he said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18: thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19: By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return." 20: The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21: And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them. 22: Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-" 23: therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24: He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

1 John 3 1: See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2: Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we will be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3: And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. 4: Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5: You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6: No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7: Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8: Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9: No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10: By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. 11: For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12: We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous. 13: Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you. 14: We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15: Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16: By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17: But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? 18: Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 19: By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20: for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 21: Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22: and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. 23: And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 24: Whoever keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Matthew 5 1: Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. 2: And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: 3: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10: "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11: "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12: Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. 13: "You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. 14: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15: Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16: In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 17: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18: For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19: Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20: For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 21: "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.' 22: But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire. 23: So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24: leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25: Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. 26: Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny. 27: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' 28: But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29: If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. 30: And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. 31: "It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' 32: But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 33: "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' 34: But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35: or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36: And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37: Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil. 38: "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39: But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40: And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41: And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42: Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. 43: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44: But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45: so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46: For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47: And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48: You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Revelation 22 1: Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2: through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3: No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. 4: They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5: And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. 6: And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place." 7: "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." 8: I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9: but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." 10: And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11: Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy." 12: "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done. 13: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." 14: Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15: Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. 16: "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star." 17: The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. 18: I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19: and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. 20: He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 21: The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

Job 19 1: Then Job answered and said: 2: "How long will you torment me and break me in pieces with words? 3: These ten times you have cast reproach upon me; are you not ashamed to wrong me? 4: And even if it be true that I have erred, my error remains with myself. 5: If indeed you magnify yourselves against me and make my disgrace an argument against me, 6: know then that God has put me in the wrong and closed his net about me. 7: Behold, I cry out, 'Violence!' but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice. 8: He has walled up my way, so that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness upon my paths. 9: He has stripped from me my glory and taken the crown from my head. 10: He breaks me down on every side, and I am gone, and my hope has he pulled up like a tree. 11: He has kindled his wrath against me and counts me as his adversary. 12: His troops come on together; they have cast up their siege ramp against me and encamp around my tent. 13: "He has put my brothers far from me, and those who knew me are wholly estranged from me. 14: My relatives have failed me, my close friends have forgotten me. 15: The guests in my house and my maidservants count me as a stranger; I have become a foreigner in their eyes. 16: I call to my servant, but he gives me no answer; I must plead with him with my mouth for mercy. 17: My breath is strange to my wife, and I am a stench to the children of my own mother. 18: Even young children despise me; when I rise they talk against me. 19: All my intimate friends abhor me, and those whom I loved have turned against me. 20: My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth. 21: Have mercy on me, have mercy on me, O you my friends, for the hand of God has touched me! 22: Why do you, like God, pursue me? Why are you not satisfied with my flesh? 23: "Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! 24: Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! 25: For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. 26: And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, 27: whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me! 28: If you say, 'How we will pursue him!' and, 'The root of the matter is found in him,' 29: be afraid of the sword, for wrath brings the punishment of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment."

1 Corinthians 13 1: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2: And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3: If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5: or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6: it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7: Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8: Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9: For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10: but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11: When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12: For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13: So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
